That is, the torrent files to download Archlinux DVD dont have trackers, I have downloaded several torrents from several servers and the same. I had to copy-paste the tracker from a CD torrent:

Can I ask why anyone's reporting a problem downloading ArchLinux on the Frugalware Linux forum???

Ups! Sorry! I didn't even realize he meant Arch!!

Indeed, I meant Frugalware. I did try download Frugalware through bittorrent... but got no seeder or leecher... As I said, I ended up getting it by direct download.

Sorry for the initial mistake.

i overlooked this thread, so i post my original message (which i'll delete after i post here) here:

i just tried to download the 1.2pre1 isos (cd1 & 2) via torrent but there are no seeders.

i was curious what tracker these torrents use and i had to find out there's no tracker given.

i know in most cases they *should* also work without trackers but i think it might help torrent downloads if you used a few free, open trackers, such as linuxtracker, openbittorrent and publicbittorrent.

in the case of linuxtracker it may also bring some publicity. in the case of openbt and publicbt you don't have to upload the torrents to anywhere, just put the tracker addresses (http and udp) in the torrent files.

what do you think?
